Eugene “Gene” Bernshtam is the CEO of Avalon Holdings LLC, a firm that provides expert assistance to clients in the fields of commercial real estate investment and development. Despite his busy schedule, he makes sure to spend time doing what he loves, one of which is traveling. He knows that from time to time, we all need to get away from the expectations and responsibilities of the daily grind to re-energize and rejuvenate. This travel blog is his way of coping with the stresses of daily responsibilities. When he’s not on a plane off to an exciting getaway, he’s on the Internet, updating his blog. It’s one way to satiate his wanderlust.

Apart from getting away from everything for a little while for a little rest and relaxation, there are numerous other benefits to traveling, and Gene Bernshtam knows this only too well. During his travels, he has met quite a few exceptional people, and has enjoyed experiencing life on the other side of the globe.

Benefits of traveling

1. Getting to know other cultures. When you travel abroad, you gain the opportunity and privilege to learn about the culture of the country you are visiting. Immersion like this is the type of cultural exposure that can give you a better understanding of the differences in tradition and lifestyle that locals from other countries have. It’s a personal experience that you can’t compare to learning from books or visiting museums. It’s a good way to develop a deeper respect from cultures that are different from yours.

2. Appreciating the wonders of nature. Each country has its distinct landscape, and being in the midst of it in person can help you appreciate the beauty of nature more. Mountains and forests, wildlife, and seascapes are truly unique in each country and seeing these with your own eyes can give you a sense of wonder and amazement like no other.

3. Going on a foodie adventure. When Eugene Bernshtam travels to other countries, he makes sure to try some of their local food. It’s the best way to get a feel of how the locals live. Some dishes may be new to your palate, and this is exactly what makes for a great and memorable foodie adventure. Don’t be afraid to try new things—including food!

Immerse yourself in the local life as much as you can. You never know when you can come back again—or if you ever will. Better to jump right in and explore the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of the countries you’re visiting than regret it later on for not having tried at all.

This blog will be updated regularly by Gene Bernshtam so make sure to check back from time to time. If there’s anything related to traveling that you’d like to have covered here, please feel free to let Gene know at your convenience.
